IRVINE, CA- On March 11, 2010, President Obama unveiled the National Export Initiative and outlined plans to double U.S. exports over the next five years and create two million new American jobs. On March 22, Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao displayed his support by releasing a statement that China will increase imports of U.S. products. In light of these recent proposals, the timing is perfect for American businesses to begin exporting goods to China.
Since the announcements, John Adams, CEO of Transtock Acquisition Group, Inc. (TAG), has organized several trips to China to facilitate a large trade project involving the exporting of American recreational vehicles (RVs) to China, where a potential $50 billion industry remains virtually untapped. European and Japanese RV manufacturers already maintain a modest presence in the Chinese market, but as global interest grows, it will become increasingly important for the U.S. to establish its foothold soon in order to gain a competitive edge in the market.
Mr. Adams has made a commitment to export the American RV industry to China, a challenge that will take the combined efforts both of local and Chinese businesses as well as their governments to bring his vision to fruition. The RV industry has only been present in China for the past ten years and there are currently about 3,000 total recreational vehicles on the roads. In America, however, we are celebrating our 100th year in the business and there are over 8.2 million vehicles in circulation.
Business in the U.S., on the other hand, has drastically declined in the recent economic climate. At its peak in 2004, American RV production was in excess of 370,000 vehicles. In 2009, these figures saw a reduction of over 50% to 160,000 units. Exporting RVs to China would not only boost American sales once again, it would increase jobs and stimulate the economies of both countries. Mr. Adams' vision is not simply for TAG to export vehicles to China, but truly to export the entire RV industry and everything that goes along with it.
This project is an enormous endeavor that will not happen overnight, and it will not happen if our business leaders do not connect with international business partners. It is imperative that professionals from all related industries get involved, from RV manufacturers to real estate developers to advertising agencies. Mr. Chengyuan Zhou, Chairman of Jiufeng Investment Group, the auto part and accessory industry leader in China, has already shown his support for Premier Wen's statement by collaborating with TAG on this project. Together, the two companies will work to export American RV's and create an entire industry in China practically from the ground up.
Mr. Zhou, who also serves as Vice President of the China Federation of Industry and Commerce, and Mr. Dechuan Tan, Vice President of Nine Peak International (a subsidiary of Jiufeng Investment Group), have made plans to visit Orange County in order to network with local U.S. business owners. They are interested in cooperating with and investing in the American RV industry as well as importing more American products into China.
Jiufeng Investment Group is a large residential and commercial real estate investment company headquartered in the Sichuan Province of China. At present, it has over three million square feet of land under active development for projects ranging from shopping centers to high rise buildings. Jiufeng Investment Group also has an aftermarket automobile parts and accessories division that does over a billion dollars in annual revenue.

LOS ANGELES, CA- This morning Assistant Secretary of Commerce and Director General of U.S. and Foreign Commercial Service Mr. Suresh Kumar held a meeting to discuss President Obama's National Export Initiative rollout plan with local business leaders and elected officials. During the meeting, Kumar emphasized two key objectives on President Obama's agenda: to double U.S. exports in the next five years and to support two million new U.S. jobs. John Adams, CEO of Transtock Acquisition Group, Inc., was one of the business leaders invited to the Department of Commerce briefing in downtown Los Angeles and spoke with Kumar after the session about getting up and taking action. Adams indicated to the Department of Commerce leader how new vehicle dealerships and RV shipments have dropped in recent years, but cited potential to increase exports in China where currently 3,000 RVs are on the road compared to America's 8.2 million. Adams brought to attention a necessity to join the efforts of the government and industry in order to achieve the President's target. Kumar stated that U.S. Commercial Services has the largest presence in China and would have the Department coordinate with local and foreign offices to make every attempt possible to support the RV industry under the National Export Initiative.
